Michael Hamm – CEO / Founder

Michael is the CEO and Founder of Hawkeye Care Centers. Mike graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration. Following college, he worked for 12 years in the manufacturing industry in Marshalltown, Iowa. Desiring a change in careers, he started the company in 1976 with the purchase of the first facility in Sioux Rapids. For the past 36 years, Mike has remained active in the company and continued his entrepreneurial pursuits by acquiring facilities to successfully bring Hawkeye to where it is today. Mike has been instrumental in leading the company’s growth either through acquisition or reinvestment into existing facilities to ensure the company vision is realized. Mike’s commitment to quality service, family, community and resident experience in long term care is achieved through his conviction to key core values which has made Hawkeye an industry leader.

Sandy Ferguson – Director of Operations

Sandy Ferguson is the Director of Operations, a position she has held since 2010. She joined Hawkeye Care Centers in 2002 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She holds a degree in Business Administration/Health Care Administration. As Director of Operations, Sandy is responsible for coaching, mentoring and supporting the administrators at all Hawkeye facilities to ensure that day-to-day operations of each facility are efficient and financially successful.

Christy Hofsaess – Vice President of Finance

Christy joined Hawkeye Care Centers in July of 2009. Christy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Hawkeye with over 15 years of experience in the long-term care industry. Christy earned her MBA from LaSalle University with a double Major in Finance and Healthcare Administration. Christy holds several certifications including Assisted Living Management and Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and is credentialed by the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. In addition, Christy has extensive knowledge of long-term care reimbursement systems. During her tenure in long-term care, Christy has managed the reimbursement systems for the largest long-term care provider in Iowa and managed the operations of their assisted living facilities. Christy was responsible for managing assisted living projects from acquiring funding and planning & design to construction and daily operations. Christy also played a key role in the development of compliance programs for these organizations. Prior to her career at Hawkeye, Christy managed the treasury functions for a large long-term care corporation on the East coast with facilities in multiple states. In addition, Christy has worked for several organizations in the manufacturing industry with varying accounting and finance responsibilities.

Doug Johnson – President

Doug is the President of Hawkeye Care Centers, Inc. He is a proven leader in the long-term care industry with 17+ years devoted to the profession. Doug began his career with Hawkeye Care Centers in 1995 as the Vice President of Operations. In 2011, Doug was promoted to President of the company. Since joining Hawkeye, he has played a key role in the company’s growth either through acquisition or development, working side-by-side with his father-in-law, Hawykeye Founder Mike Hamm. Doug was instrumental in expanding Hawkeye’s operations to include assisted living facilities. In addition, he started a new physical, occupational & speech therapy company to service the residents and tenants of Hawkeye Care Centers in 2009. Doug is passionate about his commitment to ensuring Hawkeye facilities excel in long-term care through innovation, leadership and strategic planning.

K’Lee Latham – Corporate Director Assisted Living

As Corporate Director of Assisted Living, K’Lee provides leadership and support to the Assisted Living programs. K’Lee also oversees marketing by providing coaching and guidance to all of the Hawkeye buildings. She joined Hawkeye in January of 2012. K’Lee’s initial career began in 1980 in nursing, but she found her passion in marketing and management. She holds a certification as an Assisted Living Manager. K’Lee is actively involved in the Iowa Center for Assisted Living. She is currently serving on the Executive Board of Directors and continues to serve on two committees to enrich the quality of care for Iowan seniors and assist in workforce development. K’Lee has five children and she, her husband Colin, and their daughter Rosie live in Pleasant Hill.

Daleen Seibold – Clinical Reimbursement Nurse

As the Clinical Reimbursement Nurse, Daleen assists the Hawkeye facilities with Medicare procedures offering education and support on new rules and regulations. She brings over 20 years of experience in MDS and Medicare. She previously worked at the Milford Nursing Center as the MDS/Medicare Coordinator and has earlier experience as the MDS Coordinator and Director of Nursing.

Brent Kell – Corporate Senior Financial Analyst

Megan Stoulil – Corporate Accountant

As the Corporate Accountant, Megan works closely with the Vice President of Finance making sure the company’s financials are timely and accurate. She also works with payroll and financials directly with our related companies, LTC Resources, LLC and Blue Stone Therapy, LLC. Megan started working in long-term care as a staff member of the Iowa Health Care Association five years ago. She loves knowing that she can help make a difference by working with a team that believes and shows quality care to their staff and residents.
