Caregiving That’s Professional and Personal
Hawkeye Care Centers offer different levels of resident care that range from short-term, skilled nursing care to Independent Living with support services. Below is a description of senior living options and care.
Skilled Nursing Care
All Hawkeye Care Centers provide skilled nursing care which is typically paid for by Medicare.
These services are available to those recovering from an illness, injury or hospital stay needing short-term therapy and recovery services. It includes 24-hour skilled nursing care and the appropriate recovery assistance in preparing the person to return to their home. Also known as Rehab-to-Home Service.
For those in need of 24-hour skilled nursing care, our centers provide medical services, personal care and dietary care. They also offer rehabilitation therapy which includes occupational, physical and speech therapy, each designed to the specific needs of the resident to maintain their quality of living. Residents enjoy interacting with one another in our community atmosphere.
Assisted Living residents at Hawkeye Care Centers enjoy value, choice, dignity, privacy and independence. An assisted living facility may provide a variety of services that help residents maintain an independent lifestyle. Residents enjoy spacious, private apartments with private baths equipped with handicapped-accessible showers, kitchens and individually controlled heating and air conditioning as well as 24-hour medical personnel.
Assisted living facilities are designed for seniors who need help with some activities but do not require extensive medical or nursing care. Generally, residents get assistance with daily living activities such as eating, housekeeping, bathing and dressing.
Residents of an assisted living facility may get as much or as little help as they need. Supportive services include meals, housekeeping, community dining, and laundry. Some assisted living complexes include a whirlpool, beauty salon, and outdoor courtyards.
Services vary from facility to facility, so be sure to ask questions regarding your specific needs.
Independent Retirement Living
Independent senior living communities include apartments designed for the senior lifestyle. They offer the comfort and freedom of your own home while eliminating the repair and maintenance required when owning a home.
These places are for residents who are mobile and able to take care of themselves. As part of a senior living community, residents may participate in the social and recreational activities and community dining offered. Most offer optional services such as housekeeping and laundry, medication management, 24-hour emergency staff and transportation.
Apartment sizes, amenities and rents vary, so be sure to ask questions regarding your specific needs.
